4- The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday January 16, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Senior succumbs to injuries Driver seriously injured in November two-car collision After holding on for 44 days, a 69-year-old Oakville man has succumbed to injuries sustained in a November car accident. Police report the man had been behind the wheel of a Ford Crown Victoria heading southbound on Oxford Avenue in the midday on Nov. 27 when a collision occurred at the Upper Middle Road intersection between the driver's car and a Honda Civic. The Honda was travelling westbound on Upper Middle Road when it struck the Ford in the area of the driver's door, said police. The Oakville man was rushed to OakvilleTrafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) and was ultimately transferred to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto where he died on Jan. 10 as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. A 41-year-old Oakville woman, who was a passenger in the Honda, received minor injuries in the accident while the driver, a 79year-old Oakville woman, was also injured. Both were taken to OTMH at the time of the accident. Police are withholding the names of all parties involved in this incident pending contact with the victim's family.
