www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday January 30, 2008 - 3 Hasty Market targeted, again Hasty Market at 1011 Upper Middle Rd. has been robbed for the second time in less than a week. Police said on Friday shortly after 11 p.m. two men walked into the Hasty Market, each armed with a handgun. One man pointed his gun at a witness and physically forced him to the ground while the other man jumped the counter and demanded an employee to open the till. Police say the witness on the ground was assaulted and forced to hand over personal effects and his wallet. Two employees present during the robbery were also assaulted, but no one required medical attention. The suspects fled in a black Nissan Maxima or similar Nissan product after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes, lottery tickets, watches and phone cards. This Hasty Market location was robbed only days earlier when a white male entered last Wednesday and said he had a knife. This robber was deterred when the employee said he also had a knife. The man made off with cigarettes. The suspect is still at large. Police do not believe there was any connection between this most recent robbery and the previous one. "The first guy, he buckled like a cheap card table and ran out of there," said Sgt. Brian Carr, Halton Police Public Affairs Officer. "These other two were really aggressive. There were three people in the store at the time of the robbery and they assaulted all three." The first suspect in the most recent robbery is described as black, wearing a black sweater with a zipper and a hood, light blue jeans, black running shoes, black gloves, black rimmed baseball hat with a neck warmer pulled over his nose. His handgun is described as silver. The second suspect in this robbery is described as black, wearing a black Super Bowl jacket with an Oakland Raiders crest on the front left chest. The sleeve of the jacket had the numbers 83, 80 and 76 on it while the right sleeve had Super Bowl followed by roman numerals. He wore jeans, white shoes and socks, black toque and had a dark blue handkerchief over his nose. Anyone with information is asked to contact 905-825-4777 ext. 2215.
