For Oakville Mayor/Regional Councillor Rob Burton, leadership of the Town did not translate into the biggest salary with last year's earnings sitting at $144,343, with $421 in taxable benefits. The Halton school boards were also able to field their fair share of employees with salaries in excess of $100,000. The Halton District School Board had 91 employees earning such amounts last year, including 70 principals and nine superintendents. Director of Education Wayne Joudrie received the most with a salary of $209,621 and taxable benefits of $64, while Acting Associate Director Ruth Peden and CLIP & SAVE! Associate Director Barry Finlay tied for second, with each making $172,342 in salary and $5,524 in taxable benefits. The Halton Catholic District School Board had 48 employees making more than $100,000, including 36 principals and nine superintendents. Director of Education Luciano Piovesan had the highest salary earning $166,552 last year with $12,961 in taxable benefits. Superintendent of Business Services/Treasurer Paul McMahon came next with PUT ON YOUR FRIDGE! $148,347 in salary and $1,283 in taxable benefits. For Halton Healthcare Services, 40 people made the list including 16 directors, five vice-presidents and five registered nurses. Sheridan College had a slightly lower number of high earners with 30 employees receiving $100,000 salaries or higher, which included four vice presidents, seven deans and 12 associate deans.
