18 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday April 23, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com PSYCHIC 3 DAYS ONLY Deadline for naming elephant This weekend is the deadline for entering the $Million or More Oakville (MOMO) Name the Elephant contest. $Million or More Oakville (MOMO) is inviting the public to help it name its nontraditional barometer that was designed by Oakville Beaver artistic director Steve Nease in the form of an elephant. The elephant, who has yet to be named, will help gauge the contributions to the campaign that aims to raise $1 million or more from the Oakville community to help the people of Africa who are impacted by the growing and deadly situation of HIV/AIDS. All funds raised will be directed to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. The campaign began on World AIDS Day (Dec. 1) 2007 and will continue until 2009. Supporters are asked to dig a bit deeper into their pockets to assist the campaign and its intended recipients without taking away from fundraising causes right here at home. Entry deadline to the Name the Elephant contest is Sunday, April 27 at 5 p.m. -- either by e-mail or post. Here's how to participate: Send the following information either by e-mail or mail an entry form to the $Million or More Oakville Campaign Name the Elephant Contest. Contestants should include their name; age or age category: up to eight years, eight to 13 years, or 13 years and over; mailing address; telephone number; e-mail address; and their choice of name for the $Million or More Oakville elephant. Optional for inclusion is the reason for their name choice. The signature of a parent or guardian April 27 at 5 p.m., either by email or post. One name for the elephant will be picked from each of the three age group categories and prizes awarded to the three individuals. The actual name of the elephant will be selected from the three final names. If a name is entered more than once in an age group category and that name is selected by the judges, each person submitting that name will be entered into a draw to determine the winner. Pinnochio's Pick of the Crop in Oakville has donated two prizes with an African theme, one for the winners in each of the first two age categories.
