Thomas will be sadly missed by his wife Marjorie and his children Tom of Hamilton, Allan of Winnipeg and Faye of Oakville. Thomas was a veteran of WWII and served with the RAF. Thomas completed 32 years of service with Ford of Canada as Manager Dealer Development until his retirement in 1981. His career with Ford had taken him from coast to coast in Canada, as well as to exotic places like Fiji, Australia and Africa when he was on overseas duty. Interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday June 4, 2008. Adamson, Walter Robert - (1914 ­ 2008) Lost his courageous year long battle with prostate and bone cancer at Post Inn Village June 5. Predeceased by wife Dorothy (Larter)(2001), brother Edward, sister Mary and half sister Jean McKibbon. Beloved brother of Rev. Dr. William Adamson (Brenda) (Etobicoke) and father of Robert (Oakville), Donna (Frank) Wright (St. Albert, AB) & Luella (Gary) Frazer (Burlington). Loving grandfather of Scott (Jodi) Wright (Los Angeles), Kirk (Bobbi) Wright & Krista (Tim) Osborne (St. Albert, AB), Mathew, Philip, Tracy (Burlington) & Mark Frazer (Calgary). "Grandpa the Great" to Kyla, Larkin & Morgan. An Oakville resident since 1927, Walter was a graduate of Oakville High School & Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh. His working life was with Mono Lino Typesetting Company Limited rising to President & Chairman. He was an active member of several graphic arts associations and the Toronto Board of Trade. A board member of the International Typographic Composition Association (latterly TIA) from 1953-1977, he served as president 1958-59. Locally, he was a 23 year member of the Lions Club and President 1940-41 and member of the hospital board 1951-57. As a faithful member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Oakville, he served in many capacities including 58 years as an elder with 31 years as Clerk of Session. Walter was an avid curler, golfer and Blue Jays fan. He started curling at the Oakville Curling Club opening night in 1954 continuing to his last game April 2007, (serving as President 1968-69 & was made an Honorary Member on its 35th anniversary.) His golf memberships at the Oakville Golf Club and The Toronto Board of Trade Country Club were highlighted by a hole in one at each club. Along time baseball fan starting at the opening of the " Fleet Street Flats', to season tickets of the Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball club and 25 years with the Blue Jays. In the last years, he religiously watched or listened to the games. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr, 905844-2600) from 2-4 and 7-9pm Sunday, with the funeral at 10:00 am Monday June 9, 2008 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street, Oakville with a reception to follow.
