"Hands on History Summer Day Camps focus on fostering your child's desire to explore, discover and create," said Stefanie Dragan, the museum's communications co-ordinator. "Children have the unique opportunity to learn about their community in a fun and engaging atmosphere within the beautiful heritage buildings, grounds and gardens of the Erchless Estate," said Dragan. Camp themes this year include Around the World in Five Days, Curator's Camp, Where Science Meets Art and C.S.I.: Community Scene Investigation. Each camp session is designed to ensure every child has an equal chance to participate and reach their full potential. Children will come away at the end of each day with impressive creative projects, new friends, lifelong memories, and specialized skills and knowledge. Some programs also include day trips off-site. Multicultural Council hosts picnic June 27 On Friday, June 27 the Halton Multicultural Council will host its annual Multiculturalism Day Picnic at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. The annual picnic will take place in the Breckon Shelter from 4-8 p.m. It is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
