RIDE spot checks will be set up throughout Halton and will focus on high traffic areas as well as rural areas. Schools have been notified of the campaign and residents are being asked to call police if they observe crowds of youths congregating in areas where they should not be. To avoid ending up on the wrong side of a positive breathalyzer or worse, police are advising the fol- lowing precautions: choose a designated driver, use mass transit, call a taxi, have a sobre friend drive you home or spend the night.
