OOINE iscover the B L N O Crosswinds Experience D JV Invictas roll to shutout of Halton Hills Stellar play from the offensive line and a special teams touchdown helped the Oakville Invictas junior varsity team to a 34-0 win over the Halton Hills Wildcats last weekend in Ontario Minor Football League action. The Invictas' offensive line opened holes for its running backs throughout the day as well as providing pass protection for quarterback Josh Adams, who was not sacked in the game. Adams completed eight passes in the contest, while Ashton Rochester contributed two long runs, five first downs and a touchdown. Steve Koffi-Akuffo also ran for a score and Wayne Doyley caught a touchdown pass. Defensively, Connor Moen intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a major. Ford Simpson and James White also picked off passes, Mark Falcioni recoded a sack, and Zach Colangelo, Steve Falconi and Jordan King made a number of tackles in the Wildcats' backfield. Tim Doyley had the other Oakville touchdown, returning a punt 80 yards. Adam Powell was good on four of five convert attempts, and Kyle Sanson, Te Nguyen and King all provided solid work on kickoff coverage. The Invictas will be back in action today (Saturday) with a 7 p.m. match against the Toronto Jr. Argonauts REPFOOTBALL at Bronte Athletic Field. That game will be preceeded by contests involving the two Invictas Ontario Varsity Football League clubs. The junior varisty team will play at 11:30 a.m. and the varsity squad will take the field at 3 p.m. Both games will be against Cambridge. Peewee Invictas look to rebound Meanwhile, in Ontario Varsity Football League peewee play, the Halton Invictas will conclude their regular season with an 11:30 a.m. game tomorrow (Sunday) at T.A. Blakelock High School. Halton is coming off a 48-6 loss to the first-place Ottawa Myers Riders last weekend, though the Invictas kept things competitive until the fourth quarter. A 65yard touchdown pass from Eric Manning to Evan CarrHall pulled Oakville within 14-6 of Ottawa early in the second half, and the Invictas trailed 22-6 going into the fourth before the Riders pulled away. Manning and Carr-Hall have been quite a tandem this season for the Invictas. Carr-Hall unofficially leads the league with 44 receptions and more than 600 yards, and Manning was 17-of-29 last weekend with a touchdown and two picks. The duo is expected to team up this fall with the Oakville Trafalgar Red Devils. Starting July 21st Twilight Golf Every Day After 3:00 pm 2008 Green Fees · Weekdays (Mon. to Thurs.) · Weekends (Fri.
