There was a flurry of activity at Glen Abbey Golf Club on Monday, but it wasn't the type of excitement that RBC Canadian Open organizers were banking on. The first practice rounds and Monday Pro-Am were slated for the day, but the torrential downpours on the weekend left a soggy mess for the grounds crew to clean up. Late Sunday evening, tournament officials declared the golf course to be unplayable. The grounds were closed on Monday to spectators and golfers as about 70 staff and volunteers worked to prep the course for Tuesday. Their hard work paid off, as golfers took to the greens yesterday morning as scheduled. "The key priority for us is to have the golf course ready for the championship on Thursday morning," said Bill Paul, tournament director for the RBC Canadian Open. "The forecast was calling for more rain last night (Sunday) and this morning and we didn't get that, but the course was still pretty soggy."
