"It seems kind of funny that I'm following my role in Evil Dead by starring in this show," she laughed. "I guess I'm continuing the theme of starring in horror movie musicals." This is the first time Cornell has appeared in a production by the dinner theatre company, which has garnered a reputation for shows that rival those in the theatre district in Toronto. Cornell said she is thrilled with the role. "This is one of my favourite shows and Audrey was a dream role of mine, so this is an amazing opportunity," she said. "It is a great acting challenge, she is a complex character and it is a nice meaty role for a female performer and has some great songs and really beautiful music. It is also funny and I love to do comedy roles." The Stage West gig runs until mid-September and has a chaotic schedule. There are eight shows a week, including afternoon and evening performances. Cornell said it will be at the centre of her life until it closes. "It is pretty intense, but it is a well-oiled machine," she said. "I still manage to do some voice work on the side and you really just have to take care of yourself. "I'm hoping to break into more film and television and hopefully get in on the creative side. I guess, at 27, I'll be a geriatric in L.A., but it is a good time for me to try a new place. I would love to do my own comedy movies and be like Ben Stiller or Will Ferrell, who write, perform and produce their own character comedies."
