In October 2004, two decades of dedication and collaboration among 20 local veterinarians resulted in the construction of the Mississauga Oakville Emergency Hospital. With a committed and compassionate team of 12 specialist veterinarians practicing in seven different fields of veterinary medicine, the hospital provides pet owners with around-the-clock specialty treatments using contemporary technology for their furry friends. "We are so excited to have the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital as our silver sponsor for Paws for Hope," said Lisa Moffatt, fundraising co-ordinator of the Oakville Unit. "They play such a huge role in our community offering aroundthe-clock emergency care for pets. We are so pleased to have their support for our brand new initiative," said Moffatt. Park (1551 Pilgrim's Park), participants will lace (or leash) up for a leisurely walk through the Glen Abbey trail system. Registration and a special family warm-up will start at 9:30 a.m. while the official walk starts at 10 a.m. In addition to the hospital's vital sponsorship, Dr. Jennifer LeBel will provide on-site care for all pets at the Dog First Aid station. "Dr. LeBel and her team from the Emergency Hospital will have the Dog First Aid station set up during the entire event in the event there are any pet injuries or emergencies," said Moffatt.
