4- The Oakville Beaver, Friday August 8, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Bawdy house charges ONE WEEKO LEFT T ! VOTE A trio of people are facing prostitution-related charges after police raided an alleged brothel near Sheridan College on Wednesday. After receiving numerous community concerns about a residence on Marlborough Court in June, Halton police began an investigation, soon finding newspaper ads and Internet sites that appeared to indicate an apartment at 1297 Marlborough Court was being used by the employees of an escort service. With the apartment under surveillance, police say they observed numerous men entering and leaving the apartment. Typically, the men's visits would only last between 10 minutes to half an hour in duration. On Wednesday, officers of the Halton Regional Police Service Drug and Morality Bureau executed a search warrant on Apt. 402 of the Marlborough residence. Police say they seized approximately $1,040 in cash as well as assorted documents allegedly related to the escort service's operations. Tao Sun, 54, of Richmond Hill, has been charged with keeping a common bawdy house. Weila Wang, 42, of Scarborough and Yi Qun Gui, 45, of Mississauga have been charged with being inmates in a common bawdy house and obstructing police officers.
