The Oakville Beaver, Friday August 22, 2008 - 29 Oakville library presents An Evening for Book Lovers s the children climb back into the school routine, Oakville Public Library (OPL) is inviting all adults to re-discover their love of reading. OPL is inviting our customers to participate in our book lovers evening, particularly suited to those who run or take part in book clubs. A club but don't have the resources or books to read, the Oakville Public Library offers book club kits! These kits are an easy, inexpensive way for you and your club members to access a wide variety of book clubs. Each kit contains 10 books, eliminating the need for each club member to purchase her/his own copy, and kits have an extended loan period (six weeks) to allow enough time for reading and discussion. Multiple copies save having to wait and share, and the summaries that are included contain enough information and questions to get a good discussion started. Simply check out the kit on your library card as you would any other item, enjoy, and return when your club is finished with it. It is as easy as that! For more information, visit www.opl.on.ca/interests/bookclubs.php. An Evening for Book Lovers event will be taking place Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 7- 8:30 p.m. in the Central Branch Auditorium, 120 Navy St. A professional team of librarians will be presenting 21 fabulous and thought-provoking books to the audience. Whether you need ideas on what to read next in your book club, you just want to expand your reading repertoire, or simply don't get the chance to discuss the books you have read, this evening is for you. After the 21 books have been presented, OPL Book Club Members will have their chance to vote for the titles to be read by OPL's own 2008-2009 Book Club. If you have already registered for our Oakville Public Library Book Club, please plan to attend and make sure you vote on the 21 titles you will be reading this year.
