He also recently co-wrote a top single, Poor Old Broken Hearted Me, for The Trews. He has recently released a solo album that is already getting airplay. Ballantyne will share the stage at Moonshine Café with Aaron Garner, a Collingwood-based singer-songwriter. Admission costs $10 and includes a barbecue dinner. The West Side Writers, a non-profit group for people who share a passion for writing, is holding a nineweek course called Welcome to Creative Writing. The course runs Monday afternoons from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. from Sept. 22 to Nov. 24 at St Cuthbert's Anglican Church, 1541 Oakhill Dr. Instructor Brian Henry has been a book editor for 25 years.
