www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday October 15, 2008 - 39 Santa Claus Parade colouring contest The Oakville Santa Claus Parade has launched its annual colouring contest, created again this year by Steve Nease, wellknown for his entertaining Pud cartoons published weekly in The Oakville Beaver. Children between 5 and 10 will have the chance to win the seat beside Mrs. Claus, and ride at the start of this year's Parade along side the Parade Grand Marshall. Children ages three and four will have the chance to win a special prize just for their age group. Kara Francey, last year's winner, rode in a Cinderella carriage with Mrs. Claus and had this to say about her experience: "Mrs. Claus is really nice and being in the Parade with her was so much fun." Kara's advice to other children is to take extra special care when colouring so that they too can have the chance to ride with Mrs. Claus in the Santa Claus Parade. The colouring contest is now available online and has appeared in the Kids Section of the Oct. 11, Oakville Beaver edition. It will also appear in the Oct. 25 edition. Children can get creative and into the Christmas spirit by colouring a picture celebrating A Child's Magical Christmas, this year's Parade theme. Kids, hurry and get your markers and crayons out because the colouring contest runs only until Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. For contest rules and to download your entry form, check out our website at www.oakvillesantaclausparade.ca . Discover a local favourite - Bronte Chinese Cuisine With the same care a chef puts into bringing recipes to life, the same expertise has contributed to the longevity of a local favourite, Bronte Chinese Cuisine. It all starts with quality. Owner John Lam demands it. In fact, `Quality always comes first' is the restaurant's motto. And since 1995, when Bronte Chinese Cuisine was part of the Bronte neighbourhood, consistently high standards have been primary. Quantity and hospitality are equally important. In the move to Hopedale Mall in 2006 Bronte Chinese Cuisine also kept quality, quantity and hospitality at the forefront. Oakville Beaver readers attested to this, voting Bronte Chinese Cuisine their favourite in 2007 and 2008. Regular diners from Mississauga, Milton, Burlington and Hamilton frequent the restaurant for a menu full of reasons. From the Bo Bo platter chock full of barbequed meats and won tons, to the Dry Ginger Beef tenderloin, to the Mango Shrimp made with snow peas and a chef's special fruit sauce, to General Tao's Chicken sautéed with broccoli in a spicy sauce. Guests also enjoy eating lunch and dinner surrounded by the elegant, peaceful ambiance of the dining room, which is made up of dark wood furniture, orange drum lighting, frosted, etched glass panel walls and caramel coloured leather seating. "We're so grateful to all of our customers who have supported us through all of our years in business," said John. "And we look forward to welcoming new diners too." While it's the restaurant's philosophy to treat every customer with absolute hospitality, new customers are given an added incentive. Each receives a VIP card that entitles them to a 10 per cent discount on the next meal enjoyed in the dining room. It's a nice perk considering that Bronte Chinese Cuisine restaurant's prices are already affordable. Certainly parking is the right price. It's free and ample at Hopedale Mall. For those who prefer to take their food order home, it's a handy feature. Delivery is an option too.
