Ohden will share her story as the survivor of a saline abortion attempt and will challenge her audience to Face the Choice. Ohden will speak at Halton Pro-Life's Annual Respect Life dinner fundraiser at the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre, located at 2515 Wyecroft Rd. OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE Halton Region is seeking applicants for a new Citizen Advisory Committee that will provide comments and advice related to the Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion. The positions are open for a term to last until completion of Phase 3 and 4 of the Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study project for the plant expansion OR for the current term of Regional Council, whichever is earlier. Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant Citizen Advisory Committee This Project Update is to announce that Halton Region is proceeding to Phases 3 and 4 of a Schedule C Municipal Class EA Study process for the Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatement Plant Expansion. The 2008 Master Plan Update completed Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class EA Study process and provided a review of the need for the project, an assessment of the alternative solutions for meeting wastewater servicing needs, and a description of the preferred wastewater servicing solution. The Schedule C Class EA Study will complete Phases 3 and 4 of the Class EA Study Process and will include an assessment of alternative conceptual designs and layouts and implementation concepts for achieving the capacity expansion, a detailed evaluation of environmental impacts and mitigation measures, and preparation of an Environmental Study Report (ESR). The ESR will be made available for a mandatory public review period at the end of the Class EA Study process. A vital component of this study will involve consultation with interested stakeholders including the public and regulatory agencies. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) will be scheduled during the Schedule C Class EA Study to review how decisions will be made, present the alternative conceptual designs that will be considered, review the assessment of environmental impacts and mitigation measures, answer questions and receive public input. Details of the PICs will be advertised at a future date. A Mid-Halton WWTP Citizen Advisory Committee, consisting of community representatives and members of Regional Council from the Town of Milton and the Town of Oakville will be formed to meet regularly with Halton Region's Project Team (see the separate advertisement in this issue soliciting community representatives for this committee). Purpose: This Committee will provide comments and advice pertaining to decisions to be made in relation to the Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion. It provides an opportunity for public input to Halton Region Project Team Members.
