The event is Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Since its inception in 1992, this biennial event has become a treasured tradition. Stunning homes across Oakville's elite neighbourhoods will be decorated in grand holiday style, complete with musicians serenading guests at the door, treats to sate a sweet tooth and surprise giveaways. The area's top designers, decorators and florists have been busy decorating each home in unexpected and dramatic ways -- guests may be inspired to recreate these creative touches into their own holiday decor. Appleby College's campus will be open to visitors that day, allowing guests to tour the charmingly decorated John Bell Chapel (circa 1929) and Schlesinger Dining Hall will house a tea room, bake sale and craft/artisan sale. Tickets for the house tour cost $40 and include admission to all residences on the tour, complimentary refreshments and admittance to the vendors' marketplace at Appleby College. Tickets are available at various retail outlets in Oakville, La Felicita Bakery and Spa in the Village in Mississauga, InHouse and Interior Design House in Burlington, Studio 49 in Georgetown, Maranatha Log House in Campbellville and Carriage Trade in Toronto, or at www.appleby.on.ca.
