Her passions included music; she was an accomplished singer/performer, guitarist and pianist. Additionally, she greatly enjoyed photography, art and writing. She planned on some day becoming a photo journalist. Jim was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on July 6, 1930, and attended Upper Canada College and Carleton University. His Royal Regiment of Canada mates will recall Jim as a serving officer, and before that as a Captain in the Cameron Highlanders in Ottawa; and his Toronto Star Syndicate colleagues will recall his 36 years of leade r s h i p .
