Not quite. This special scene will be set this spring for one night only when the Abbey Park High School cafeteria is transformed into a taste of Little Italy with our annual Pasta Night. On Thursday, April 2, it will be time to celebrate Pasta Night, an annual charity event in support the Canadian Cancer Society. In its 41th year, Pasta Night -- formerly known as Lasagna Night from its previous inception at Queen Elizabeth Park High School -- has always been a huge success, raising thousands of dollars each year. Abbey Park High School's fifth annual pasta night will be serving a full pasta dinner (with vegetarian or meat sauce options) including salad, rolls, an assortment of desserts, as well as hot and cold beverages. All items will be prepared by our foods and nutrition classes under the supervision of their dedicated teachers and the pasta dinner will be served by senior students and members of APHS Student Council. This year, our goal is to raise $5,000. We are sure there is not one person reading this who has not, sadly, been touched by cancer. That is why we need your help to make the evening a complete success. We serve approximately 400 people at two seatings and any help would be greatly appreciated. We are soliciting donations of gift certificates, gift baskets, store/business services for our popular silent auction table. If you (or your place of business) are able to donate silent auction prizes to our school, or a cash donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, not only will your assistance be appreciated. Stop by at one of the two seatings (5 p.m. or 7 p.m.) and enjoy an evening of good food and wonderful entertainment, while supporting the Canadian Cancer Society at the same time.
