Predeceased by her beloved husband Edward, Frances was in her 82nd year. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Patty and her husband David as well as her brother Jim (Cathy) and sister-in-law Patricia Smith (Ernie), her beloved Aunt Molly as well as 7 nieces and nephews. Frances' memory will also live on in the Vietnamese community and the many lives she touched. A special thank you from the family to all staff and volunteers at The Carpenter Hospice who cared for her in her final months. She made many new friends and enjoyed many new experiences. Born March 8, 1923 in London, England. `Land Girl', War Bride, avid gardener and poet. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Wellesley Murray. Raised in London, Eunice excelled as a scholar and athlete, and during the war years joined the Women's Land Army. After marrying Don, their travels took them from England to his home in New Brunsw i c k , t o To r o n t o a n d t h e n O a k v i l l e , w h e r e E u n i c e w a s a c h i l d r e n 's l i brarian and storyteller extraordinaire. She inspired children with the love of reading and, for many years, her home was `open house' to a generation of Oakville teens, who could be assured of a welcoming presence, debate, discussion and plenty of laughter. After Don's death in 1982, her later years were filled with her passion for gardening, poetry and her antiques `finds'. She will be sorely missed by her daughters Heather and Glynis, their husbands David Galbraith and Roy Maxwell, and by Paul, Elyse and Sarah, her beloved grandchildren of whom she was so proud, and by her dear friend Peggy McCann, sister-inl a w C h r i s t i n e M a c k , b r o t h e r- i n - l a w John Murray and wife Constance, and her many nieces and nephews. The family expresses its appreciation to the wonderful staff at Martha's Landing, who made a home for Mum in her later years and never failed to value h e r i n d e p e n d e n c e a n d i n d i v i d u a l i t y, and to Dr. Sabrina Ing for her dedicated care.
