OAKVILLE BEAVER Saturday, April 25, 2009 · 24 The St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School U13 soccer team won the CISAA Tier Two soccer championship with a 2-1 victory over Havergal College. Two critical goals and plays from centre-mid Gen Crotty and forward Jessica Losch sealed the victory. The Oakville Rangers Novice AA team wins the Pittsburgh Presidents Day Cup Championship Tournament and Finish in 2nd Place overall in their division!! The CIBC Minor Peewee Flyers hockey team topped off their season by winning the championship game at Joshua's Creek Arena in front of a full house. The 2008-2009 Oakville Hornets Midget BB won the gold medal at the Rochester Fire on Ice tournament on November 7-9, 2008, defeating the hometown team in a determined battle. St. Mildred's Lightbourn School Robotics team(SWAT 771) wins the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Awardat the FIRST Robotics Greater Toronto Regional Competition Oakville Hornets Midget/Intermediate team "Oceans 15" win Gold in Oshawa House League Tournament, March 2009 Oakville PeeWee Red Wranglers win Gold at the Faustina tournament in Etobicoke, December 2008 The St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School CISAA Under 16 Basketball team went to the Championship tournament with only two losses in the regular season. Captians Rebecca Arahimi and Stephanie Butera led the team to a SILVER medal in a hard fought campionship battle. The St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School U14 basketball team won the PSAA championships, defeating Oakville Christian School in the finals. The team completed an undefeated season by also winning the Mentor Invitational tournament. The Oakville Hornets Peewee BB continued their winning ways at the Guelph Thunderstorm tournament. The girls won the tournament by winning all five games, never allowing a single goal against them. The Oakville Peewee BB Hornets recently skated away with another gold medal at the London Devilettes tournament. The Oakville Rangers Minor Bantam AE team continued their winning ways with back-to-back tournament wins, capturing gold at the London SSE Wild tournament. The Oakville Peewee BB Hornets took Silver at the Lower Lakes League Championships. The Oakville Rangers Minor Bantam AE team captured Gold at this year's Richard Bell Tournament. The Oakville Hornets PeeWee BB hockey team captured Gold at Waterloo Raven Fall Challenge Cup November 7-9, 2008. Bhaskar DasGupta was 2nd in Ontario in the 1.40 meter Junior Amateur division and he and his horse "Anamika" won the 1.45 meter Next Generation Series final in September at the Tournament of Champions horse show in Palgrave, Ontario. Rachel Bingham, 16, was 2008 Ontario Champion with her horse "Matchmaker" in the 'B' Equitation, Ontario Champion in the Children's Equitation and Reserve Ontario Champion in the Children's Medal. She was named 2008 Ontario Equitation Rider of the Year. GOLD AGAIN! The St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School Hockey Team won GOLD for the second year in a row at a 3-0 victory over St. Clements. The team also celebrated being in the Top 10 selected from 600 submissions to the "Bring Home the Cup Contest". The winning entry will be announced April 23rd.
