While the fundraiser is new, the May Court Club of Oakville has been providing healthy snacks to school children for 18 years in Oakville and Burlington. So now the May Court Club is presenting the Oakville Cuvée to specifically raise funds for the program. Besides the tasty treats, the event will feature entertainment and music. "Children don't learn well when they are hungry," said Karen Walker, May Court club president. "The May Court Lunchbox Program is absolutely necessary, since so many kids are at school hungry," said Brian Van Wyngaarden, principal of Oakwood Public School, which is a recipient of the Lunchbox program. There are 42 schools in Oakville and Burlington that receive help from the May Court Club. There are nine May Court Clubs in Ontario. All of them have similar programs for children. It is a mandate of the Association of May Court Clubs of Canada to help with nutrition for children in their communities. This Oakville Cuvée has received tremendous community business support.
