The Canadian Cancer Society, Oakville Unit is seeking volunteer drivers for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and afternoons and Monday and Friday afternoons. The Canadian Cancer Society has a transportation service that has volunteer drivers pick people up and take them to the hospital or regional cancer centre and offer a friendly, supportive environment along the way. All trans- portation services are co-ordinated locally, and all drivers live in the communities they serve. The CCS needs drivers from Oakville to take patients to the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton, Princess Margaret and other Toronto hospitals and to Credit Valley Hospital. A typical shift is about four hours a week and mileage is reimbursed to the volunteers. There is training required and the vehicle that would be used must be smoke-free.
