However, it was Oakville native Renee Helmer's tenth-inning sprint around the bases that proved to be the difference in the Brampton Blazers' 4-2 upset of British Columbia's Fraser Valley Fusion. Helmer, a former member of the Oakville Angels who plays first base for the Blazers, sparked her team in the top half of the tenth with a one-out single. The next batter, Miranda Castiglione, smacked a triple down the right-field foul line, scoring a hard-charging Helmer from first base.
