Cruise for a Cause set to sail Cruise for a Cause, a dinner dance cruise that fundraises to help the mobility-challenged enjoy life on local waters, will set sail once again on Thursday, Sept. 3. Charterability, which seeks to include seniors and the mobility-challenged in boating events rather than leaving them on dock due to accessibility issues, is hosting the cruise that will see the 300-passenger Wayward Princess set sail from Oakville Harbour. This will be the Oakville community 13th annual Cruise for a Cause. Already successful in raising awareness about the need for an accessible dock (now finished) on Sixteen Mile Creek, Charterability offers free pleasure boat cruises aboard a specially adapted pontoon boat to local seniors and community groups. Charterability's Cruise for a Cause leaves Oakville's Navy Street Pier at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. Tickets cost $60 per person and include a dockside reception catered by Ristorante Julia, Coriander Green, Just an Olde Fashioned Butchery and Seafood and Black Forest Pastry Shop. The evening cruise includes dinner, a Russian flavored vodka taste by Danska, dancing, a silent auction, raffle draw, cash bar and more.
