OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, October 7, 2009 · 24 Sale period: October 8-14 Kids needed for talent contest Glenburnie School presents the Performing Arts Challenge Talent Contest on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Children from 5 to 13 years of age from all over the region are invited to compete in this annual event. Instrumentalists, vocalists, and variety performers from diverse genres and backgrounds will be competing for the coveted trophies and prizes. The vocal division will run from 9-11 a.m., and the instrumental, dance, and variety divisions will follow at 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Participants in all divisions are required to have a minimum of one year of training in their field. Artistic impression, stage presence, technical merit, appropriate dress, attitude and body language will all be considered in the judges' decisions. Performances must be no longer than three and a half minutes in length. All participants will receive a certificate of participation. Trophies will be presented to the winners of each division. This year, award scholarships will be offered that have been provided by sponsors, Addison Music Learning Centre and Harmony Arts Academy, as well as door prizes. Registration fee is $25 per entry, payable to Glenburnie School by cash or cheque only. Submit payment with completed registration form to: Glenburnie School, 2035 Upper Middle Rd.
