QEW Mazda breaks ground By Tracey Allison There is a new location, new facility, and a new name for Oakville Mazda, QEW Mazda. On October 15th the new QEW Mazda's groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of their new highly visible location on the QEW close to Third Line. The event was celebrated amongst the soil and bulldozers, as the new 18,000 square foot, state of the art facility is set to open in the spring of 2010. The event was attended by The Mayor of Oakville, Rob Burton, Conservative MP, Terence Young, Director of Sales Operations for Mazda Canada, David Klan, and of course the dealership's President Jason Guttman. He took over the Oakville dealership three years ago and said it has been very successful to date. He is very excited about QEW Mazda and said, "This groundbreaking is the completion of one goal and the beginning of another." The new multi-million dollar facility will provide outstanding parking, a huge selection of new and used vehicles, an extremely energy efficient building and a staff and customer environment that is second to none. Guttman said, "I have the privilege of working with a great team. All of you are an attribute for making this happen today." During his speech, Mayor Burton said, "Oakville is open for business and we are thrilled to have QEW Mazda taking root here." He also wished them a long life of great success there. Young said, "The key priority in the government is the economy and jobs. It is a great pleasure to be here today." The Business Development Bank of Canada is providing the financing for this project, whose future home is located at 1501 North Service Road West in Oakville, only a few kilometres from their current location on Speers Road. This new location is one of the busiest stretches of the QEW, with over 175,000 vehicles passing by every day. The facility is being built by Abcott Construction and was designed by Wes Surdyka Architects. Klan was also pleased to be there for Mazda's newest Ontario dealership. He said, "I am thrilled to be here to celebrate and I know QEW Mazda will be a beacon for Mazda." Guttman was happy to thank his staff at Oakville Mazda and said they are a key component to their success. "I couldn't have done it without you." He closed by saying, "I look forward to seeing all of you at the grand opening in the spring." THERE'S MORE TO LIFE THAN A CAR. THAT'S WHY I DRIVE A VOLVO.
