Qualified applicants pay a $50 fee to have their snow windrow (the pile of snow left at the foot of driveway by the snowplow) cleared from Nov. 30 to April 12. To register, proof of age is required from seniors and a doctor's note is required from residents with physical disabilities. Registrants will also need to sign a declaration stating that no able-bodied person under age 65 is living at their residence. "We are happy to work with the Town of Oakville again this year to provide this much-needed service," said Emma Rewenko, seniors co-ordinator, Links2Care Oakville. The service will be initiated every time a snowfall exceeds 10 centimetres (four inches), and will begin after the Town has plowed all roads. Depending on the number of program registrants, it will take the Town up to 12 hours from when they finish plowing all town roads to clear the windrows.
