She did, however, gain almost two full points on Woo. Though it was the vault that helped her earn a spot on the podium, it is the beam where Bolger enjoys herself the most. "Just knowing I can tumble on something so skinny, it's kind of amazing." Though she fell on the last element of a back handspring, layout, layout on Day 2, the difficulty of the rest of her routine, kept her in contention. Then in front of the home crowd, she secured the bronze with a fourth-place finish with her floor routine. "It doesn't come as naturally for Elise," said Manjak. "It's pure NIKKI WESLEY / OAKVILLE BEAVER hard work and passion HIGH FLYER: Elise Bolger for her. It's by pure soars above the beam at the Elite desire for her to be on Canada gymnastics competition the podium." at the Oakville Gymnastics Club. Considering she came into the event hoping to finish in the top half of the 40-competitor field, the all-around bronze was a little too much for her to comprehend as she walked off the floor with two medals around her neck. "I don't have anything to describe it. The feeling is so great," Bolger said. "It's awesome." Annie Sheridan's seventh-place finish in the allaround put three Oakville gymnasts in the top eight. Sheridan placed fifth on floor and seventh on bars and teammates Taylor Davison, seventh on beam, and Sydney Davison, seventh on floor, also had top-eight finishes. jlangero@oakvillebeaver.com Call Jessica at CONSTRUCTION FOUNDATION REPAIR 905-845-3824 ext. 299 PAINTING WET BASEMENT?
