K'NEX Build-Zone Ontario Science Centre Have a kid who loves to put things togeth Monday is Hockey Day in Oakville A couple weeks after CBC's Hockey Day In Canada, Oakville will hold its own one-day celebration of the sport. The second edition of Hockey Day in Oakville will take place Family Day (Monday, Feb. 15). The activities will take place at Canlan Ice Sports, located at 2300 Cornwall Rd. The games begin at 8 a.m. All Minor Oaks Hockey Association house league novice teams are welcome to join in on the action and there will be trophies given to every player registered, as well as one championship trophy for the winning team in each division. Everyone in the family is encouraged to also bring their skates to the tournament. At 12:30 p.m., anyone can get on the ice for the Family Day fun skate. Parents are also encouraged to bring non-perishable canned food items to contribute to the food drive. All of the money collected from the food drive and raffle tickets will be donated to Oakville's Fareshare Food Bank.
