The Oakville Taekwondo Academy is located at 364 Kerr St. Students of Oakville Taekwondo Academy will kick for one hour to raise funds for Toronto's Sick Children's Hospital. A silent auction will follow. The academy hopes to raise $2,500 this year. The kickathon will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Kickathon has become a traditional fundraiser in memory of Victor and Lian Lo's brother, Erik Lo, who would have turned 17 this year, but passed away in 1994 after relapsing after 10 months of treatment for acute myelogenous leukemia. The Kickathon has raised more than $6,000 over the past few years with all proceeds going to the Hospital for Sick Children. Last year, students at the academy shattered their previous record of 4,996 kicks in an afternoon with an astounding 19,542 kicks. The event raised $2,320.
