Metroland Newspapers Carguide Magazine General Motors of Canada will conduct a safety recall of 256,583 compact cars to replace a motor in the power steering system. Vehicles affected are the 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt; 2007-2010 Pontiac G5; and 20052006 Pontiac Pursuit. GM Canada told Transport Canada today about the voluntary recall after an investigation was concluded which revealed that greater steering effort under 24 km/h may be required. While these vehicles are safe to drive because the drivers can still steer the vehicle, this measure is being taken out of concern for our customers.
