Nine of those dancers live right here in Oakville. "We are so proud of all our dancers," said Barb Goggin-Wade, director of the School, in a press release. "Their hard work and dedication is truly humbling. The Claddagh Ball takes place on Saturday, March 6 at the B u r l i n g t o n Convention Centre. Claddagh is the Irish symbol for friendship, loyalty and love. The event will include performances from the school's dancers, a silent auction and dancing. The championships are taking place March 28 to April 4 in Glasgow, Scotland where some 4,000 dancers will participate from across the world. The GogginCarroll dancers qualified in November at a regional competition in Niagara Falls. About 700 dancers came from Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes to participate in the qualifier. The gala runs from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets cost $65 per guest and seating is limited.
