Kick off your March Break with some music and mayhem at our free concert at Hopedale Mall. Join us at Hopedale Mall Centre Court on Monday, March 15 at 11 a.m. for a fun, interactive family concert. Dan the Music Man will wow us with his musical abilities. Bring all the members of your family and experience just one of the many drop-in programs running throughout March Break week. We are offering everything from Wii Gaming to Storytime Drop-ins so there is sure to be something for everyone at your local branch. OPL's March Break Specials range from a Princess Party for two to five year olds to Motorworks for nine to 12 year olds keen to learn about gears, motors and circuits. New this March Break is the Red Cross Babysitters Course taking place at Woodside Branch on Wednesday, March 17. This all-day course will empower youths ages 11 to 15 years with confidence and skills to care for themselves when home alone or for other children. Run by S.O.S. First Aid, the course will include the Red Cross Babysitters' Manual and a wallet-sized card of completion. To register, participants must pay $50 and call S.O.S. This year sees three March Break programs offered at two library branches. T U R B O c o m i c s Cartooning for the graphic novice is suitable for those aged six to 12 years. This fast-paced cartooning workshop will teach the fundamentals of cartooning adventure with a serious scifi twist. It is offered at Iroquois Ridge and White Oaks branches. Space is the Place is a fun program for those willing to jump into the next dimension and become part of the art, creating soaring paper creatures for a performance in a life-sized shadow-box theatre. This program is suitable for those aged six to 12 years and takes place at Clearview and Glen Abbey branches. Suitable for those five to 12 years old, no registration is required and the program takes place on Monday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Central Branch and Thursday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at Woodside Branch.
