A passionate advocate for the equality of women for the past 38 years, LeFrancois is founding member of numerous organizations to improve the status of women both locally and internationally. The event, hosted by oomama -- the local grandmothers to grandmothers group in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and its projects to assist Africa with the HIV/AIDS epidemic -- will take place from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at St. Simon's Anglican Church, located across from Sheridan College just east of Trafalgar Road. Concert fundraising for Haiti A fundraising Concert of Worship will be held on Sunday, April 11. Hosted by the Burloak Christian Fellowship Church located at 4343 Hwy 25 (Bronte Road), the 6:30 p.m. concert will be raising funds for the operating expenses for the ambulance donated to Mission of Hope in Port au Prince by Halton Region. The fundraiser is being held in support of paying for a donated ambulance during the time of the Haiti earthquake. Refreshments will be provided in support of Community Living Oakville Self Advocates. Local recording artist Kelita, along with a group of musicians, will be staging a performance. A concert featuring Danny Brooks, Kelita, Jim Leek and many others will take place after intermission. A silent auction will also be presented that night.
