In a federal criminal complaint filed in Buffalo, Galea was charged Tuesday with smuggling, unlawful distribution of human growth hormone, lying to federal officials and conspiracy to defraud the United States. The charges were filed eight months after the high-profile physician to Tiger Woods, Alex Rodriguez and Patrick Chan was charged in Canada for allegedly smuggling and administering a banned drug. Bronte Donor Recognition Garden unveiled To recognize hundreds who donated to the vision of the Bronte Butterfly Park and Skateway -- a vision that failed to completely spread its wings -- the Town unveiled the Bronte Donor Recognition Garden Saturday. Hundreds of Oakville residents were recognized for their donations -- many made a decade ago -- to the Butterfly Park. The donations have instead helped fund a portion of the cost of the garden at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. "The Bronte Donor Recognition Garden pays tribute to Oakville's community spirit. About 25 years earlier, he had visited Germany in the capacity in which he first distinguished himself as a leader: teenage cadet. Parker, who would go on to become a full colonel, was Col. Geoff Parker killed in Kabul, Afghanistan Tuesday when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb beside the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) convoy with which he was travelling. Five American soldiers and 12 Afghan civilians were also killed in the blast, which injured dozens of others. Parker had been in Kabul interacting with various international organizations in order to prepare for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan later this year.
