Thieves left empty-handed Halton police are investigating a break-in at a restaurant in Oakville in the early morning hours of July 14. Shortly after 2 a.m. the Mr. Sub restaurant at 3420 Rebecca St. was entered when someone smashed the glass front door. A robbery attempt was foiled when the culprits discovered the cash tray had been removed from the cash register. The culprits then fled the area empty-handed. This incident is similar to a number of break and enter incidents at businesses over the last several weeks in Oakville and Burlington. In these incidents the suspects targeted the cash registers located inside the premises.
