Colin Russell, Sinead Russell and Aimeson King will all compete in the Pan Pacific Games after posting strong performances at the senior national swimming championships that concluded last weekend in Victoria. Colin Russell, who competed in the Olympic Summer Games two years ago, placed second in the B final of the 200-metre freestyle at senior nationals. His sister Sinead won gold in the girls' 100m and 200m backstroke events, adding a silver, bronze and two other top-eight finishes at the meet. Sinead locked up her spot on the Pan Pacific team earlier this year. Both Russells are members of the Dolphins Swim Club, which finished fifth in Canada and 11th overall in team competition at the senior nationals. King, meanwhile, won the men's 10-kilometre open water title at nationals. The victory earned the 19-year-old a berth on the Canadian Pan Pacific team. King currently swims in B.C. for Island Swimming. His family continues to reside in Oakville.
