The event, founded four years ago by local nutritionist Angela Borgeest, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Holiday Inn, Oakville at 590 Argus Rd. (Trafalgar Road and QEW). It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While Borgeest began the fair as the Wholistic Womens Fair, it drew attention from all and last year Borgeest got the word out that men were more than welcome. This year, she has gone a step far- ther its a family affair. I cant believe I've done this for four years now. The Wholistic Women's Fair has evolved into a Wholistic Family Fair as more people are asking if they can bring their chil- dren, or men are asking if they can come. So here it is, I have renamed it, said Borgeest. The fair offers a wide array of fun and alternatives. The Chinese said it well, a jour- ney of 1,000 words begins with a sin- gle step. Dont think about it, do it, said Borgeest. Learn about how straight your hips and shoulders are ever won- der why you always get aches and pains on one side of your body? Look at your tongue and then match it with the Tongue Map and let the experts explain what organs are challenged at this time of year in you. In the world of homeopathy, peo- ple are divided to three kingdoms (plant, mineral etc) and knowing which you are determines your strengths and weaknesses. Try a sea salt scrub or a chocolate laced with so many anti-oxidants that you simply must have one three times a day. Check out the bling created by a Reiki master. Have a cup of tea and have the leaves read or check out some (guardian) angel card readings. Have your handwriting analyzed or sample hands on healing tech- niques with Reiki. Its all at the fair, according to Borgeest. The 2010 edition of the fair will showcase vendors of eco-friendly products and services, tea leaf read- ings, plant-based skin care, energy healing, specialty drinks and choco- lates, supplements, yoga products and services, life coaching, angel card readings, custom jewellery, live blood analysis, allergy testing, and alterna- tive healthcare products and services. There will also be two silent auc- tions, as well as a host of lectures including: Getting in the Flow of Qi; Iridology Your Eyes Never Lie; Handwriting Analysis; world of tea; Celebrate Age Wisdoms learned after 50; Eating Vegetarian; Face Reading; Storytime for Ages 4-6; Healing Art of Reiki; and Alternative Approaches to Easing Pain and Inflammation The fair will also feature demonstra- tions including family yoga; a free hair makeover to the public; how to make natural laundry detergent; Showtime, lip sync, dance or perform an instrument for ages eight to 16 years. Panel speakers will include a chi- ropractor, naturopath, acupuncturist, yoga instructor, energy healer and nutritionist. Admission costs $10. Children six and under get in for free. Proceeds go to the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants. For more information, contact Angela Borgeest at 905 842-1362 or angelnutrition@yahoo.ca. Wholistic Fair to be a family affair OAKVILLE BEAVER FILE PHOTO UP FOR THE TEST: Christine Ng tests Sheila Olsen for allergies at the Wholistic Womens Fair in 2009. The test involved Olsen holding a jar of possible allergen in one hand while Ng tired to pull the fingers of Olsens other hand apart. If allergic, Olsen would be weakened and Ng would be able to pull apart the fingers easily. HealthOakville Beaver Angela Borgeest
