At Grace Academy of Dance & Performing Arts, we believe learning to dance is so much more than simply prac- ticing steps and movements. Its also an opportunity to develop confidence, grace and poise that will last a lifetime. Our instructors are dedicated to creat- ing a supportive environment in which students gain a strong technical founda- tion and natural love of movement and creativity. Our focus on individual growth and achievement ensures students recog- nize their accomplishments and take away wonderful memories of their experience. Our highly skilled instructors ensure students receive a solid foundation in dance and theatrical technique in a friendly, non-competitive environment. In fact, Grace Academy is one of the few schools that does not concentrate on competitive work within our program. All our students are given opportunities to participate in examinations, to perform within the community, and to take part in a specially written family musical at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts each year. Grace Academy offers classes in classi- cal ballet, modern theatre dance, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, and acting. We provide students with the opportunity to explore their creativity in a safe, caring and fun setting, where strong friendships are established as they develop a love of dance! Our focus is on building the individual allowing students to grow at their own pace and in their own unique ways. When taught correctly, dance is a wonderful way to develop grace, strength and flexibility and to nurture growth in personal expres- sion and confidence! We thank Oakville for consistently selecting us as their favourite dance school, as well as recognizing us as going "above and beyond" in customer service. OAKVILLE BASKETBALL CLUB Oakville Venom, the towns premier rep program, continues to make an impact on Ontario basketball. This past season, OBC fielded 22 rep teams with many teams competing in Division 1. We are particularly proud of our two Division 1 Provincial Cham- pion teams (Novice Boys and Major Midget Boys #1), bronze medal fi nish (Major Atom Girls #1) and our silver medalists (Bantam Girls #1) who went on to win the Eastern Canadian Championships. This is the clubs second Eastern Canadian title in the Bantam Girls division. We also had 4 athletes from our Major Midget Girls team be part of the Ontario Games winning team. In recognition of the quality of our girls teams, we have been awarded a Junior Girls Elite League Team (JUEL). The JUEL looks to consolidate the best female athletes in the region with high level coaching and resources. The Oakville Basketball Club is pleased to announce the 2010 Venom tryouts for the up- coming OBA rep season. The club has a new training facility which will play an important role in our rep athletes development this season. We have assembled a highly qualifi ed skill development and strength and conditioning staff that will provide exceptional skills programs to our Venom athletes.
