The Hornets fell 3-1 to the Burlington Barracudas Friday in Burlington, then were edged 2-1 by the Mississauga Chiefs Saturday at Joshuas Creek Arenas. Friday, Lindsay Griggs first-period goal stood up until the third period, when the Barracudas rallied for three unanswered goals. Saturday, Melani Moylan opened the scoring for Oakville early in the second period. Mississauga tied the game with a shorthanded marker midway through the frame, then netted the winner on the powerplay with less than two minutes to go in regu- lation. Hornets netminder Laura Corcoran stopped 38 of the 40 shots she faced in the loss to Mississauga, while Rebecca Clark made 29 saves against Burlington. The Hornets (0-4) will play two road games next weekend, visiting the Bluewater Hawks Saturday and traveling to the Southwest Wildcats Sunday.
