The complaint led to charges of public mischief and three counts of possession of explosive substances. In addition, the accused has also been charged with fraud over $5,000 in connection with a separate investiga- tion by the Halton police fraud depart- ment. Police were initially notified on Sept. 20 that a makeshift explosive, the size of a shoe, was left on a Falling Green home lawn. The device was dis- covered by a man returning from a walk around 11 p.m. Police were told the device might have been left there between 10-11 p.m. The explosive disposal unit was called to the site and the residents of the home were evacuated and the area was checked for similar objects, though none were found. Two days later police confirmed that it was an incendiary device. This week, however, the police departments criminal investigation bureau executed a search warrant of the Falling Green home where the device was found. Police allege they found two more incendiary devices that resembled the one found in September. Prior to the Oct. 7 charges, the police departments fraud unit had started an investigation into activities related to two companies, Go Rent Free Fast and Get in, Get out, Go home (GIGOGH). Police are still investigating the fraud charge and ask anyone who has dealt with either of the two companies to contact the investigators. Police have charged Phillip Allan Bradley, 47, of Oakville with fraud over $5,000, public mischief and three counts of possession of explosive sub- stances. The Police are continuing to investi- gate this incident. Anyone with infor- mation related to it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2204 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS (8477).
