Oakville outscored Brampton, Kanata and Waterloo by a combined 13-1 count in round- robin play, then defeated Kanata 4-0 in the semifinals and Brampton 6-2 in the champi- onship game. The tournament win concluded an impressive 10-1-3 performance in preseason play. Members of the team are Kaitlyn Booth, Kenedy Choma, Mary Corby, Drew Gordon, Megan Foster, Logan Hackett, Madeline Hayes, Julia McDonnell, Karley Merkley, Claire Mills, Sydney Morrison, Miranda Snable, Emma Thompson, Catherine Trevors, Rebecca Vanstone, Courtney Wilson, Madeleine Clapham and Megan Foster. The team is coached by Gerry Hackett, Kevin Gordon, Steven Hayes and Mike Choma. Atom AA Hornets win Harvest gold The Oakville atom AA Hornets won the recent Oakville Hornets Harvest Classic tournament. The Tulsa Oilers netminder began his sec- ond pro season by stopping 24 shots in a 4-3 win over the Wichita Thunder and followed that up with a 35-save performance in a 4-1 victory in the second game of a home-and- home with Wichita. A second-round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2007, Cann split last year between Tulsa, where he went 11-6-1 with a 2.81 average and .915 save percentage, and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.
