It will run 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 31. Custom made orthotics are designed to correct abnormal foot and lower extremity function (includ- ing the foot, ankle, leg, knee, thigh and hip). In correcting abnormal foot and lower extremity function, the foot orthotic reduces strain on injured structures in the foot and lower extremity, allowing them to heal and decrease pain. In addition foot orthotics help prevent future prob- lems from occurring in the foot and lower extremity by reducing abnormal or pathological forces. Chiropodists at the Oakville Hospital Footcare & Orthotic Centre create custom made orthotics. Orthotics are used to correct the foot so that the pain in the foot and lower extremity will improve. They are custom made to meet the biomechanical needs of each individual so that normal activities can be resumed without pain. How do I know if I may benefit from Orthotics Nagging Footpain If you have an obvious imbalance that causes such symptoms as flat or high arched feet.
