It didnt take long for Rachel Vukson to earn her first award of the university sports season. The University of Central Florida womens volleyball senior was named the Conference USA setter of the week for her perfor- mance in last weeks FGCU Homewood Suites Invitational. It was the third time Vukson has earned Conference USA set- ter of the week honours, with her first coming when she played at Tulsa. Vukson totaled 124 assists (13.78 per set), 20 digs and chipped in with six block assists at the FGCU Homewood Suites Invitational. The Loyola graduate helped the Knights attain hitting percentages above .300 in each of their three matches, including a weekend- best .424 against GCU. Vukson was also named the most outstanding setter for the tournament. UCF, which hasnt been ranked in the NCAA top 25 since joining the Division I ranks in 1984, is unofficially ranked 30th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association standings. The Knights will host the Residence Inn/UCF Invitational this weekend, where they will take on UNC Greensboro, Pittsburgh and in-state foes Florida Atlantic and South Florida.
