SERVING THE JEWISH COMMUNITIES OF: Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Milton & Brampton and that graduation rates are on the rise. They know that once their children graduate from high school they will have more opportunities for post-secondary education and that if they get the grades, our government will ensure they get to go. Maintaining and improving on public services in Halton also means continuing with the progress we have made in healthcare. Halton Region, as a whole, now has four major hospital projects approved and underway. The new Oakville Hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility providing the highest level of care to its patients. Does it give you relief to know that we are considered better than Dominica, Chili and Costa Rica? The Green Party believes in preventative medicine. I will fight to reform healthcare delivery so everyone has the access they need, both young and old. A vote for the Green Party is not a wasted vote. Please be an informed voter and vote Green. Continued from page 12 Karen Fraser We are also working to ensure our aging population has the best care we can provide and that, when possible, that care takes place where our seniors are most comfortable in their homes. We have more work to do. Our public services are essential to our communities. I believe the people of Halton need a strong, new voice at Queens Park to ensure we continue to grow and protect our public services. Indira Naidoo-Harris Continued from page 12 Throughout September, the public can help support Dog Guides Canada and Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind by making a donation at any Ontario LCBO store. Donation boxes for Dog Guides Canada and Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will be displayed at LCBO checkout counters until September 30. Both organizations rely on the generosity and support of organiza- tions like the LCBO and the public to help cover the costs to raise, train and place each dog. To date, more than 1,000 people in Ontario have received a guide or assistance dog through the two organizations. Dog Guides Canada addresses a wide range of disabilities through their five dog guide training programs: Canine Vision; Hearing Ear; Special Skills; Seizure Response; and Autism Assistance. gDonate to Guide Do s at LCBO
