GRAHAM PAINE / OAKVILLE BEAVER Off Broadway for children The YMCA of Oakville and the local ArtHouse program have teamed up for a program that will engage children in music, theatre arts and fitness enrichment. The five-week Off Broadway program will be held at the Y Saturday afternoons, begin- ning Oct. 22. The cost-free program is for children aged seven to 11 and is available for up to 30 participants. The program will encour- age children to lead creative and healthy lives, develop strong communication and team building skills, make new friends and lasting rela- tionships, and to experience a culturally rich community setting. ArtHouse now provides seven totally cost-free pro- grams in seven locations in Oakville, serving more than 200 children. ArtHouse launched four cooking pro- grams recently and more are expected to come. ArtHouse raises funds through concerts so that all children could participate in arts-based programs.
