I really am just so proud of Newman/Haas and the effort we put forward as a team. We started to race late and battled some tough weekends, but we also put on some really good shows. To even be in the running for rookie of the year going into the last race, never mind leading it, was quite an accomplishment by everyone at Newman/Haas... It's difficult because it's certainly not a celebratory mood right now, but I hope that in a few months we can look back and give ourselves a little pat on the back for what we accomplished. So what's next for you? The program right now immediately switches to try and secure things for 2012. We don't have all our deals in place right now, but we're working hard. Everyone's pleased with how we did this year and we'll try to carry that momentum into next year with a new car. The offseason plans are to get the business side sorted, the teams get the new cars Dec. 15 and from there we hopefully get to racing and try to have another good year in 2012. Will you be driving on any other circuits? There's a possibility for some sports car stuff, and there's a couple big go-kart races that IndyCar racers often do. I'll definitely be behind the wheel at some point in the offseason. When you say deals need to be done, what deals do you mean? Sponsorship deals, deals with the team. We just want to get everything settled early. With the new car, there's a lot to get done. The earlier we can get (deals) settled, the earlier we can get working on the car and ultimately the more prepared and competitive we will be when we show up for the first race next season. Hornets drop first The Oakville Blades won both their games and the Oakville intermediate AA Hornets lost their lone contest last weekend in their respective leagues. The Blades whipped the Milton IceHawks 9-1 Friday and blanked the Hamilton Red Wings 4-0 Sunday in their two Provincial Junior Hockey League road games. Liam Board had four goals in Friday's game. The Hornets fell to 2-1 on the Provincial Women's Hockey League season with a 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Lady Senators Saturday.
