After 40 years at Hopedale Mall, the club has moved its annual sales to Dorval Crossing East mall located on Dorval Drive at the QEW this year. The Optimist Club of Oakville, sells the trees in order to support a variety of youth programs. The club provides Youth Appreciation certificates and gifts, and a $2,000 scholarship to each local high school for a student heading on to university or college. It also sponsors sports teams, high school robotics teams, the Salvation Army of Oakville, Kerr Street Ministries, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign and donates $1,500 to Kerr Street Ministries for outside play equipment.
