Woman hospitalized after Wednesday robbery By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Halton police believe a 61-year-old Oakville woman was brutally attacked after she interrupted a break and enter at a local trucking company. The woman was rushed to Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) after she was attacked by three men at Brewer Van Line Logistics, located at 1165 Invicta Dr., Wednesday morning. Police said the assault occurred at around 8:15 a.m., at which time it's believed the lone employee may have interrupted a break and enter. While the investigation is in its early stages, police allege at least one suspect was armed with a handgun. Police reported the individuals assaulted the employee, striking her in the head, and then fled. The woman reportedly received non-lifethreatening injuries. Police have yet to determine if anything was stolen from the business. The suspects are described as male, non-white with average builds. They wore hooded sweatshirts. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation continues. Anyone with information about it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Service at 905-825-4747, ext. 2215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). 3 · Thursday, January 12, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com ALL-NEW PRODUCTION WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA Opening Today!
